Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contracts The Team for consulting services

DUBLIN, Ohio – The Team: Sports, Entertainment, and Media has been retained by the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference to conduct workshops with its member institutions during the conference’s summer meetings scheduled for July 31 – August 1, 2007.

Specifically, The Team will conduct workshops on marketing, sponsorship sales, identification and recruitment of minority candidates for coaching positions, and gender equity planning.

The workshops will be conducted by Frank Pergolizzi, Director of The Team’s Collegiate Services Division, and Dave Whinham, President and CEO of The Team.

“This is an outstanding opportunity for The Team to share our many years of experiences in these specific areas with the members of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference,” said Pergolizzi. “We have previously served some of the schools in the WIAC and look forward to working directly with each institution to make their athletic departments as strong as they can possibly be.”

Added WIAC Commissioner Gary Carner, "We are very fortunate to have The Team attend and contribute to our upcoming summer workshop. The workshop attendees include all of our ADs and SWAs, as well as a number of our FARs and SIDs and gives up an opportunity to bring in outside experts to facilitate our discussions on various topics that are not at the forefront of innercollegiate athletics."

The Team previously provided consulting services to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The Team assisted Whitewater with its football coaching search, specifically in the areas of identification and recommendation of minority candidates. With Oshkosh, The Team worked with Athletic Director Al Ackerman on assessment and development of an action plan aimed at improving the athletic department’s corporate sponsorship and advertising program.

The WIAC is comprised of nine institutions from the University of Wisconsin System and is considered by many to be the premier NCAA Division III conference in the country as evidence in part by the 35 NCAA national championships captured by the conference over the past 11 years.

The Team: Sports, Entertainment, & Media's Collegiate Services Division, launched in July 2006, offers an array of products and services to college athletics administrators, including certification consultation, strategic planning, program review, feasibility studies, gender equity and compliance consulting, and financial services.

Based in Dublin, Ohio, The Team began operations in January 2002 and has successfully managed transactions for an array of entities throughout the sports and entertainment industries, including teams at all levels, venues, buyers, sellers, licensed products, television and media projects, feature films, and other related businesses.

Along with brokering professional sports and entertainment opportunities, The Team also offers comprehensive consulting services to sports and entertainment organizations throughout North America.
